Have you ever heard people saying that our wildest fears have the power to become reality? Have you ever thought why it is that our fear becomes reality but not our hopes? It is because we feel so strongly about our fears but when it comes to hopes, we are so unsure. Once a friend told me that our thoughts give out powerful rays of attraction. Surprised? It’s true. When we start thinking about something we start attracting things that will make our thought a REALITY. For example, we say that something should not happen but our mind is fully focused on what if that something does happen, what will be the consequences, what will happen after that and so on. So many “WHAT IF”s make what happens in our thoughts a reality.

In contrast, look what happens when a person thinks positively, he/she feels positive and perceives a positive future which in turn makes him/her look happy and prosperous. Similar is the case with our good deeds. When we only think of doing a good deed, Allah rewards us with a good deed whether we perform it or not, simply based on the purity of our intention.

It is a known fact that Allah deals with the affairs of a believer the way the believer thinks about Allah, as it comes in Hadith Qudsi (Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn-e-Majah):

قال صلى الله عليه وسلم : ” يقول الله تعالى : أنا عند ظن عبدي بي

Translation: Allah said, ‘I am to my servant as he thinks of Me.’ Sahih Bukhari, Volume 9, Book 93, Number 502

Hence if we are expectant of Allah’s mercy, consider Allah to be compassionate, to be forgiving of our sins, to welcome us with open arms if we repent, this is how Allah will treat us in’sha’Allah. On the contrary, if a sinful believer thinks that he/she is a bad person, has always done evil and never repents because of these negative thoughts, how will Allah forgive him/her?

Earl Nightingale once said: “Whatever we plant in our subconscious mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become reality. So my dear friends, be positive and think about Allah in a positive light while doing all the good that you can do. I know it’s not easy, mostly we are surrounded by fears especially the fear of unknown. So whenever bad thoughts appear, seek refuge in Allah’s protection and know that it’s a prank of shai’taan, the devil, to mislead us from the right path.
