A series of inspirational talks to help you prepare spiritually for the month of mercy and maximize the barakah and rewards in this month.
At the onset of Ramadan Muslims all over the world start fasting from dawn to dusk daily for 30 days as ordained in Quran.
“O you who believe fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you so that you can learn Taqwa” (Quran 2:183)
The Arabic word Taqwa is translated in many ways including God consciousness, God fearing, piety, and self restraining and the word Ramadan means “to burn”, to burn away bad habits, burn away impunity, to burn away things that are distracting you from the remembrance of God.
Hence, Ramadan is not simply an exercise in fasting during the day, binge-eating during the night and setting the clock to the morning’s wee hours for those inclined to rise for the predawn meal. Neither is it about irate drivers who feel entitled to exhibit road rage, lackluster employees who see the month as an excuse to slack off and overworked women slaving over a stove every day in preparation for the sunset meal. Ramadan is none of those things, if done right.
Instead, Ramadan is the chance for a spiritual boost, with lessons to be applied long after the month is out. Join us at Al-Aaizah for a series of inspirational talks to help you prepare spiritually for the month of mercy and maximize the barakah and rewards in this month and beyond.
