The most awaited event of  Khatam e Bukhari, which was held on February 4th, Saturday, to celebrate the completion of Sahih Al-Bukhari & of six years of advanced Islamic study by the Alimahs of the graduating class. This blessed program began with the women’s program by the students reciting the last few verses of Surah Hashar, followed by a melodious nasheed, a kalam, and finally an inspirational bayan by the respected speaker.

The bayan highlighted that the probability of a Muslim getting misguided is nullified if he/she firmly holds Allah’s book and the Holy Prophet’s sunnah (SAW). It gave an insight into the life of Imaam Bukhari RA. It featured how strenuously he worked to compile the thirty chapters of Sahih Al-Bukhari in the period of 15 years.
There are more than eight thousand traditions in this book, and before writing each tradition, he used to perform ghusl, wear good clothes, apply perfume, offer two rakaahs of nafl prayer, pray before Allah and recite tasmiyah and then used to enter the tradition. It was pinpointed that Shah Walliullah played a crucial role in spreading Islam in the Indian Subcontinent. His efforts had such a colossal impact that it became a norm amongst Muslims to read this book.  Sadly, this book is somewhat abandoned by the majority of the Muslim community today.
The last hadith of Sahih Al-Bukhari served as the final lecture of this scared book for the graduating Alimahs and other listeners. As part of the commentary of the last hadith, the daily recitation of an azkaar was emphasized, سبحان الله وبحمده سبحان الله العظيم,  that can be recited daily. This powerful zikr is very light on the tongue of a Muslim but heavy on the scales of deeds.  Sometimes Allah, who is Rahmaan, grants us huge rewards for minimalistic deeds.
It was said that if someone recites a tasbih of these azkaar daily, Allah will forgive all of his sins. Continuous dhikr of these words bestow financial ease on the reciter, and Allah gives him taufeeq to perform good deeds. However, the regular fulfillment of five daily prayers was stressed in order to get the true essence of the virtues of this azkaar.
Mohammad Al-Bukhari RA has started Sahih Al-Bukhari with the chapters on imaan and ended it with the chapters of Tauheed, which is actually a guideline for us as humans, that a person’s life starts with Imaan and should end with tauheed when his life terminates.
The speaker sealed this event with a beautiful and heartfelt dua. May Allah make us beneficial for the Ummah.
